Extension and refurbishment of an existing multi-purpose hall and mosque, including the formation of a mezzanine office space.
Construction comprised of a suspended beam & block ground floor, masonry supporting walls and steel framed superstructure.
The project required a column free area within the multi-purpose hall, which resulted in the need for a 15m long spanning structure. PSE proposed to form a triangulated frame with hanging columns supporting the mezzanine floor beams. This resulted in significant cost savings in terms of steel tonnage, increased floor to ceiling height due to shallow beam sizes and enabled ease in construction.
